Love Actually Recap ep 1-3 (Spoilers)

Before I write anything else, Spoiler alert! This post is complete with Spoilers! Do Not Read if you don’t want to have the drama spoiled for you!!! This is your last warning! Anything past this will be a spoiler!!! By the way, the videos on viki.com are so huge lol.

爱的蜜方 Love Actually Recap ep 1

So let’s start with the intro. Love the song, but I dislike how it spoils almost the entire drama! Ugh, the show is already giving us stills and trailers galore, but to have the intro do it to us too!? Wah? I want to be surprised! :(! Anyways, the first episode shows our female lead, Xiao Xia(Summer), sending her nephew, Yuan Guang(Sunshine)to school. She gives him money for food and tells him not to use it on junk food and ramen(lol). This is apparently an important theme, seeing as the entire show is about yummy, glorious food.

Lee Da Hae is so cute as Xiao Xia. Her eyes are so big and her facial expressions are so funny especially, when she’s on the bus getting crushed. Poor Xiao Xia, she has to work  so many jobs. I like her attitude too; so fierce when she needs to be. Too bad she  had to have contact with her brother who steals her work money. He just so happens to be Yuan Guang’s father. I loved when she kept beating him haha! I wonder if he will actually return all the money he stole from her…

So now Xiao Xia pretty much has no money and is raising Yuan Guan by herself again. What’s sad is Yuan Guang believes his father is the best person on Earth, but he realizes his aunt works very hard to raise him. He’s a little too good to be true lol. Since they have no money, Xiao Xia has to look for another place to live, so she seeks out Chen Hao Jie. Unfortunately that isn’t without a price. She has to pretend to be his girlfriend in front of his family, before she can get an apartment for free.

When she finally meets the family however, the reception is almost perfect. Hao Jie introduces her as his “fiance” rather than girlfriend and makes up other things that make her mad. As he introduces his family, Xiao Xia gets a warm smile from her “father-in-law”, Mr. Chen, a bright and sunny hello from “brother- in- law”, Li Yang,  and cold look from the second brother, Hao Feng. Pretty good looking brothers I might add(hehehe). Hao Jie is looking for some money from his family(apparently this isn’t his first time) and he is quickly shot down until he brings up the fact that his dad promised him money if he found a fiance.

Hao Jie suddenly leaves and Xiao Xia is stuck with the family, but without a place to live. The father talks to her and says she should live with them since she’s almost family now. With no other choice, she takes Yuan Guang to the Chen house after wandering in the rain. Of course, when they see Yuan Guang, the suspicions arise in Hao feng… but not in Li Yang. It’s like having good cop bad cop. One is the optimist, the other is a conspiracist. Mr. Chen is immediately delighted with Yuan Guang of course as they suspect him to be Hao Jie’s son.

So by now, Xiao Xia has just arrived in the house and Hao Feng is on her like a hawk asking her all sorts of questions relating to her and his brother. However, Li Yang keeps interrupting and adding on his two cents. After the interrogation, Xiao Xia decides to help out with chores and ends up seeing a torn photo of Hao Feng. She accidentally picks up some mysterious laundry that even flusters the austere Hao Feng. If that wasn’t enough, when she dries their clothes on the line outside, she accidentally shows both brothers her own unmentionables. Wow… this show is dirty.

Later, Hao Feng’s suspicion takes him to new heights as he sleuths through the house looking for a DNA sample. He even cuts a piece of hair off of Yuan Guang to get it tested(which was hilarious because he looked like a murderer). However, he gives Xiao Xia an ultimatum; to work in the restaurant and do well or leave the house forever.

In this episode, we continue with the challenge of working in the restaurant. She has three chances, so if she screws up three times, she has to leave. However, Li Yang is there to help her along the way. The first offense was when she was packing up some food and she didn’t do it with gloves on…(-_-) sigh. Her second offense was not paying attention to the customer when the lady moved her seat so Xiao Xia wasn’t able to give her the noodles on time. Before the last stage, a new character appears! Xiao Xiao! Apparently she’s known the family for a long time now and has the hots for Li Yang lol. When Xiao Xiao see’s Xiao Xia getting chummy with Li Yang, she becomes jealous and sabotages her last task to buy groceries. After some convincing from Li Yang, Hao Feng agrees to give Xiao Xia one more chance to right her wrongs. She suggests making a new dish using the extra goose liver she accidentally bought since its a key ingredient in many of their dishes. The Chen’s are amazed at her palate, and even Hao Feng’s suspicions are caught off guard. Her dish is a huge success but she decides to leave anyways.
